A Review of For Everyone by Jason Reynolds
Rating: 5 Stars
For Everyone by Jason Reynolds is a letter to dreamers. It is about looking forward to things that seem unattainable, but they are in fact attainable. It's about narrating your own story as you decide you want more, as you decide you want the dream. His writing is so smooth and powerful in such a quiet way, that you feel the words creeping under your skin slowly and taking root. You only notice when you find yourself leaning into the book, willing the words to come faster because you feel them, understand them, devour them. I am going to read his All American Boys soon, I know it is a heavy book from the reviews I have seen, but taking in his poetry makes me want more.
